Mission & Values
Plymouth Construction Training Group formed in 1977 and is an independent members organisation.
We are funded by the CITB to support mainly Self employed - zero PAYE; Micro (one person to 9 employees) and SME construction businesses in Plymouth and the Plymouth travel to work area.
Our primary function is to:
- encourage and provide access to training for local construction companies
- share knowledge and information
- give advice and guidance
- raise the standards of training.
Construction is one of the most vital sectors in the UK. The City of Plymouth is anticipated to need an additional 10,000 construction jobs to meet the skills challenge of delivering a wide range of new projects. Going forward, the Group's strategy is to help the industry within the local area to remain strong and assist those involved to continue through this unstable economic climate.
Plymouth Construction Training Group is committed to promoting and raising the standards of the training activity to the construction industry and its wider membership.
Our Committee
The members of our committee are local to Plymouth and have a great passion for helping businesses and through their knowledge and experience, bring a significant contribution to our Training Group.
Our Chairman Tony Carson is also the Chairman of TEC Construction. He founded his company in Plymouth in 1987 and operates a successful and well-respected company in the South West.

Alongside Tony Carson, we have a further wealth of experience and knowledge from our committee members who also operate successful and celebrated companies within Plymouth. Their accomplishment in their field adds to the help, we as a group, can offer to each other and to our PCTG members.

Through our PCTG Quarterly meetings and AGM, our Committee are a sounding board for our members to discuss issues that our members' face and the challenges that our industry presents.
